Since middle-ages, oak furniture has been a staple of interior design. It has always been regarded for its stately aesthetic, dependability, and durability. Oak computer desks are modern representatives of the progress in oak desk and furniture design.
Oak furniture has been evolving and changing since the 15 century. Oak desks and paneling from that time period up until the 18th century has been particularly cumbersome. The English Renaissance sparked a design revolution that made oak furniture design much more elegant. Ornate paneling and complex ornaments were used to embellish the designs of oak furniture.
Modern day oak desks are still stately pieces of furniture, but they are much smaller and use space more efficiently than their predecessors. There are also additional compartments to store your computer processing unit (CPU), monitor, keyboard, and additional files. So you do not have to worry that an oak desk will dominate the available space of your room.

The Advantages of a Smaller Desk
Don't worry if you have a lot of stuff. If you're like me, you probably have a mountain of CDs, DVDs, and files to store in your desk. Make sure you don't write off a smaller computer desk just because you have a lot of stuff. Small computer desks are designed to store large amounts of stuff in an efficient manner without the entire room feeling cluttered.
A well designed computer desk will give you convenient shelves and compartments to store your hard-copy information. A roll-out tray for your keyboard and compartments for your printer/scanner are usually located beneath your desk. All other shelving units are above the desk.
A small desk is designed to help you save without losing functionality. This desk is perfect for young adults who are looking for something that looks good, but isn't too big. Make suer you do not sacrifice comfort for size. You want to be able to sit your legs straight conveniently and sit with good posture.
